Paiute ATV Trail Network

The Paiute ATV trail Utah system may be one of the largest and most diverse off-road trail systems in the world. The main Paiute trail in Utah is an endless loop through four counties with thousands of side trails and inner loops. It winds through mostly BLM and National Forest lands and thus belongs to all of us. It boasts the highest jeep trail in Utah at 11,000+ feet and also winds through canyons and deserts with a wide diversity of plants and animals. The ATV trail Utah is directly accessible from Bullion Creekside Retreat.

Bullion Canyon – Canyon of Gold Trail Area

This beautiful area is part of the Paiute ATV trail Utah network. It is considered by many to be the best part of the Paiute trail in Utah. Stretching into the high Tushar Mountains out of Marysvale, Utah, it features old mining camps, beautiful Bullion Falls, fishing, mountain goat viewing, and the colorful fall leaves of maple, oak, and aspen. The connecting Cottonwood Loop Trail reaches about 11,000 feet in elevation. This ride is just a few minutes away from Bullion Creekside Retreat—your base for Utah cabin vacation rentals and Marysvale Utah RV camping.

Cottonwood Canyon ATV Loop

This is a great half-day loop from Bullion Creekside Retreat. It is accessed via the beautiful Bullion Canyon, also known as the Canyon of Gold. The road begins just beyond the bridge in Bullion Canyon and climbs via many switchbacks through meadows and fir and aspen stands to over 11,000 feet, climbing over Horse Heaven. A side trail offers a spectacular view of Marysvale Valley and an old miner’s cabin perched on the edge of a 200-foot cliff. Another side trail gives a view of the upper Bullion Wilderness. Sightings of mountain goats are possible along the high parts of this trail. Many wildflowers bloom in season. The trail then drops into the secluded Cottonwood Canyon with a mysterious cabin on a rocky outcropping. This road eventually crosses Highway 89 and allows a loop back to Marysvale and nearby Marysvale RV parks.

Deer Creek ATV Trail

We recommend this Paiute trail in Utah (Trail 77) to many, and it has never disappointed. The trail follows a 19th-century mining road into the Kimberly Mining District that has since become a two-track ATV trail. The lower section winds through a spectacular deep canyon that feels like a national park. It climbs from 6,000 feet to about 10,000 feet and passes through beautiful meadows and stands of Douglas fir and aspen. The trail crosses Deer Creek several times—a small but fishable stream. This trail is not far from Bullion Creekside Retreat via the Beaver Canyon Trail, making it a great option for guests staying in cabins for rent in Utah mountains or RV sites in Utah.

Barney Lake ATV Excursion

Begin this excursion by crossing the desert valley from Bullion Creekside Retreat and entering the Monroe Mountain Range via spectacular Dry Creek Canyon. These climb switchbacks through rimrock and cliffs. A hidden waterfall can be seen from a short side trail. This trail tops out on the Monroe Mountain plateau with beautiful meadows and aspen stands. This area is known for hosting some of the largest bull elk in Utah. September brings the elk rut—a true wilderness symphony. The highlight is Barney Lake and Manning Meadow Reservoir, which are rich with native brook trout and scenic beauty. This is one of the premier ATV trails Utah has for scenery and adventure.

Beaver Canyon ATV Loop

This loop out of Bullion Creekside Retreat may be the best part of the Paiute trail in Utah. The road is generally in good shape but has steep drop-offs and should be approached with care. Paiute Trail 01 crosses a pass that is the highest road in Utah at about 11,400 feet. The route passes through the Tushar Caldera, the remnants of an ancient volcano, with a small waterfall inside. This high-elevation trail skirts Mount Belknap and Mount Delano, both over 12,000 feet, and features meadows bursting with wildflowers. There are opportunities to view mountain goats, deer, and elk. The trail loops through Circleville or Junction back to Marysvale. Bring extra fuel for this incredible ride near your Utah lakeside cabins or RV park Utah.

South Monroe – Elbow Ranch Valley Desert Wildflower Ride

We recommend this trail in late May, when desert wildflowers are at their peak. It covers desert and mid-elevation mountain terrain with chances to see elk, mule deer, and sage grouse. This loop is close to Bullion Creekside Retreat and ideal for a half-day ride. The trail also passes through Dry Creek Canyon, with a hidden waterfall and fascinating geology. It’s a great trail to explore during your stay at our Utah cabin vacation rentals or while enjoying Marysvale Utah RV camping.

Casto ATV Trail

This two-track trail winds through pink hoodoo formations reminiscent of Bryce Canyon. We enjoy riding this trail and connecting to Limekiln Canyon, looping back to the Casto Canyon trailhead. The upper section has ancient Bristlecone Pines—some over 4,000 years old. This is another unique option among the many ATV trails Utah offers near your cabins for rent in Utah mountains.

Fremont ATV Trail

This 50-mile stretch of existing roads connects Circleville, Utah, to Tropic Reservoir near Bryce Canyon. At Circleville, the trail connects directly to the Paiute ATV trail Utah system. One of our favorite loops on this trail is the Casto–Limekiln Canyon loop, which offers fantastic scenery and adventure for those staying in RV Park Utah accommodations.

Coral Pink Sand Dunes

This state park is in day trip trailering proximity (about 2 hours) from the heart of the Paiute Trail. It makes an interesting diversion to try a different kind of ATV ride from the Paiute trail riding. It boasts beautiful pinkish sand dunes made from the Navajo sandstone formations of that part of southern Utah. It has Ponderosa Pine forests interlaced into the dunes. There are a few steep dunes for the power ATV enthusiasts as well as many intermediate and beginner sand trails. There is a minimal day use fee to ride in the dunes. A safety flag is required on all ATVs in the Park.
